LIVE A LIFE OF IMPACT!  VOLUNTEER!

Have you ever wondered if your life really mattered?  Have you ever wanted to expand your life by being involved in something bigger than yourself?

The Bible teaches us that the poor, the outcast and the wayward sinner are near and dear to God’s heart.  There are hundreds of references in the Bible concerning our obligation to minister to the poor.

At Good Samaritan, we provide you with opportunities to fulfill God’s commands concerning ministry to the poor and to grow in your faith as you practice what you preach.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Good Samaritan Mission is a volunteer driven ministry that was established for the purpose of proclaiming the love and compassion of Christ and the good news of his salvation to the poor, hungry, addicted and wounded of N.W. Indiana.  The ministry is volunteer driven to provide a venue for the members of local churches to have an opportunity to strengthen their faith by putting into practice the teachings of Scripture concerning ministry to the poor and forgotten.

The heart of the mission is the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We believe that the local church is God’s method of effecting a long-lasting change in the life of an individual.  Without heavy local church involvement, we would fail at making an impact that lasts.

But the impact is mutual.  In a recent reference email, Pastor Dave McIntyre of Calvary Evangelical Free Church wrote these words concerning his churches’ partnership with Jim Watson as he started the Bridgeport Rescue Mission:

The partnership that we enjoyed was much more than just financial, although there was great blessing through that partnership as well. We found that our people grew because of the partnership with Jim’s work.  As they fed the homeless and helped refurbish homes for the mission, they were blessed and encouraged that they could serve God and make a difference in lives.  It encouraged them to be much bolder in their witness for Christ.
