Good Samaritan Mission Ministries

Feeding the Hungry

LifeChange for Men & Women Trapped in Addiction, Homelessness, Gangs & Prostitution

Our Ministries

We believe that only the power of the gospel can affect a lasting change in a person’s life. The gospel message is an expression of God’s love, salvation and compassion articulated in both words and deeds.  At Good Samaritan Mission, we endeavor to impact lives through a multitude of venues–preaching services and Bible studies, personal witness and prayer, compassion expressed through service and love expressed by acceptance and a non-judgmental attitude.

Our models for ministry are Jesus and the thief on the cross and his ministry to the outcasts of society, Hosea and his prostitute wife and the determination of the Apostle Paul to preach the gospel, no matter what the cost.  We also strongly believe that our mission is to focus on making disciples, not just converts that revert back to their old life when they are confronted with difficulties and trials.

In a little over three years, thank you Jesus, we have made tremendous advances in opening up ministries to reach the hurting and broken in our community.  In addition to the ministries already opened, we are dreaming and praying for emergency shelters for both women and men, and more advanced vocational training programs.  Please contact us if you require additional information.

LifeChange Programs for

Men and Women

We work specifically with the most difficult men and women who have failed at all their attempts to change their lives.  We target the homeless, the severely addicted, gang members, prostitutes and those who have self-destructed.  The LifeChange Program is a two-year, residential Christian Program that focuses on helping men and women that have lost their way change their lives.

Soup Kitchen

Our Soup Kitchen has served over a hundred thousand hot meals to some of Gary’s neediest citizens.  At our central kitchen located on Grant Street, hot food is prepared and served, plus transported and served at two additional sites in Gary.  This facilitates a relationship between the person needing food and the church soup kitchen site and community volunteers.  The goals of this program are to feed men and women that are hungry, recruit the homeless and those addicted to drugs and alcohol for our LifeChange programs and connect people to the ministries of local churches.
