Meet Jim Watson

Jim Watson, along with his wife Tammy, have been working and planting urban missions for the last twenty-three years.  Jim is currently the executive director and founder of Good Samaritan Mission in Gary, Indiana.  His life and ministries have been featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, the Connecticut Post, Connecticut Magazine and other newspapers across the country.

Jim was born in Boston and raised in the Baltimore/Washington area.  In addition to urban missions, he has also pastored three churches.  Jim began his urban mission work as the executive director of a small mission in Roanoke Rapids, NC.  After almost five years of doing ministry turnarounds at two separate missions, Jim sensed that God was calling him to become a mission planter.

Jim has received the following awards for his work:

• Two Awards from the General Assembly of Connecticut

• The Ecumenical Ministry Award

• The Community Action Award

• Founders Award from Capital City Rescue Mission

• Appreciation Award for Founding Lenawee County Mission

He has preached in hundreds of churches and spoken at numerous civic groups. To invite Jim to speak at your church or civic organization, or to preach in your church, call 219 455-6335 or email him at jimwatson@gsmissions.org.
