What is The Daily Bread Club?

The Daily Bread Club is a group of caring, compassionate folks like you that want to do something about hunger in our region.  It is a group of people that give $20 a month to Good Samaritan Mission in Gary to help underwrite the monthly cost of groceries for the mission’s soup kitchen.  It is a group of people that know that while one person’s contribution may not go very far, there is real power when many people come together to make a difference; when they decide that even in a recession, it is unconscionable that one person in our region should go to bed hungry.

 

Here’s how it works:

 

• On the first of each month, you will receive a letter that tells a true story about how someone’s life was impacted by your participation in The Daily Bread Club.
• Each letter will contain a response envelope for you use to mail your $20 donation to the Good Samaritan Mission.
• Within a week after you mail your donation, you will receive a tax receipt to use for filing your taxes.
• You will never be asked for any additional money.
• You can also make this gift in honor of a loved one or a friend.  A card will be sent each month to the person you honor.
